Unlock Timeless Wisdom Through Living Literature
A year-long, mentor-led journey where your students discover that leadership grows from language, character emerges through performance, and wisdom lives in the works that have shaped civilization for over 400 years.
Picture your students confidently performing Shakespeare on stage—not just reciting memorized lines, but embodying complex characters, understanding profound human truths, and speaking with eloquence that captivates an audience. They've moved from intimidated to inspired, from passive readers to active performers who recognize themselves in stories written centuries ago.
This is Shakespeare Conquest.
This mentor training is designed for homeschool parents who will be leading Shakespeare Conquest in their homeschool community. Through your guidance, students connect Shakespeare's timeless insights to the foundations of leadership, discovering what it means to understand human nature at its deepest levels and express themselves with confidence and artistry.
What Your Scholars Will Experience
Immerse Themselves in Living Literature
Your scholars won't just read about Shakespeare—they'll live with him. Students encounter jealousy and ambition, mercy and justice, loyalty and betrayal. They discover that these aren't dusty old plays—they're mirrors reflecting every human struggle, triumph, and choice they'll face in their own lives.
Advance Through the Royalty Race
Through watching, reading, or listening to Shakespeare's plays, students progress from Peasant to King or Queen, tracking their journey through the complete Shakespearean canon. They learn that consistent engagement with great works transforms understanding from surface-level to profound. Each play becomes another layer of insight into what it means to be human.
Become Performers Who Embody Truth
Through the second semester's Actors' Training, students don't just learn acting techniques—they develop the courage to be vulnerable, the discipline to commit to a craft, and the empathy to inhabit someone else's experience. Week by week, they open their creative minds, explore emotions, discover their voices, and master the art of bringing characters to life. By spring production, they're not just acting—they're leading.
Present With Authority
Through researching and presenting 10-15 minute explorations of Elizabethan Era topics—from the Globe Theater to the Four Humors, from courtship customs to crime and punishment—students become experts who can teach their peers. They learn that true understanding means being able to explain complex ideas clearly and engagingly.
Write With Depth and Insight
Through writing assignments exploring themes, characters, and connections in Shakespeare's works, students develop the ability to think critically and express complex ideas clearly. With your supportive feedback focused on developing their thinking, even reluctant writers discover they have important insights worth sharing.
What Makes a Great Shakespeare Conquest Mentor
You don't need a theater degree or a PhD in literature. You need a belief that young people can handle complex material when it's presented with enthusiasm and support.
The most effective mentors are those who:
Get excited about discovering layers of meaning alongside their students
Ask "What did you notice?" instead of "Here's what the experts say."
Create space for students to grapple with challenging language and ideas
Model the joy found in great literature and authentic expression
If that describes you—or the mentor you're becoming—you're ready.
More Than Literature—A Foundation for Leadership
Shakespeare Conquest isn't about producing English scholars (though many students do develop serious literary expertise). It's about helping young people understand that leadership requires understanding human nature—the vices that destroy and the virtues that redeem, the choices that elevate and the ones that corrupt.
Parents report children who speak with greater confidence, think with more depth, and engage with complex ideas fearlessly. Mentors see increased emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving, and a shift from consuming entertainment to understanding artistry.
Students consistently describe Shakespeare Conquest as the course they discovered that something old could be new, that something hard could be thrilling, and that words—when mastered—could be powerful.
This is leadership education—rooted in language and character, lived through performance and analysis, and carried forward for life.
